Mike has been a dedicated, advanced student of mine for the past 14 years. He originally came to me after having previously studied with some of the top instructors in the world in JKD, Wing Chun, full contact Karate, and Aikijujutsu. He had fought in hundreds of fights with no weight classes and barely any rules. I’ve personally watched him “empty his cup” and transform from a talented sport fighter to an initiate of combat Jujutstu. Along the way he’s become a gifted teacher with a unique perspective on marital arts, having grown up in a rough upbringing with extensive real world experience. As a result he has a deep understanding of tactics and strategies for surviving attacks in the street involving awkward environments, weapons, and multiple assailants. He’s definitely seen it all. He is both a fighter and a teacher. Regardless of whether one comes from MMA, law enforcement, the military or even has physical or mental disabilities, he has a lot of wisdom to share. His students are lucky to train with him.

Mike’s simultaneously a bully and the best therapist you’ve never had. I’ve never had more emotional growth than after experiencing Mike shout my deepest and darkest insecurities to a mostly-disinterested bar crowd and seeing them shrug it off, as if my penchant for getting fisted behind The Abbey is totally normal, encouraged even. I’ve since fired my therapist and will only share my darkest thoughts with Mike as long as he promises to publicly humiliate and blackmail me with them at a later date. Mike’s system is amazing; best and most dangerous I have ever seen or heard of in my life!
